Benromach Organic

Postby moyboy » Mon Jul 07, 2008 1:05 am

Good morning all (well it's morning in OZ)

i am getting a bottle of Benromach Organic whisky sent to me via the single malt whisky club i am a member of here in Australia.

The tasting notes on the whisky mag main web page aren't harsh in any way but also aren't raving on about it either.

Apparently Jim Murray gave it 91 points.

Has anyone tried it and what are your thoughts?

The word Organic has me a little nervous but also interested at the same time...

I like it. It has an unusual mix of strong vanilla flavours and young malt. I commented on this when I tasted it (at a tasting in RMW) and was told it was very young but had been matured in totally new wood - hence the strong vanilla flavour. Go for it!
