LAGAVULIN 1991 Distillers Edition in WA state stores now.

Postby Cody » Sat Jan 26, 2008 6:28 am

FYI for anyone who is in Washington State.... the state run liquor stores just got in some of the Lagavulin & Oban Distillers Editions. The Lagavulin and Oban were at my local store and nearly sold out. Only 2 bottles left of each in the Vancouver area. I heard the Seattle area has a bunch of bottles. I'm going to go open the Lagavulin Distillers Edition right now!

:D

Lagavulin DISTILLERS EDITION = $80.60 a bottle (tax $19.35) = TOTAL $99.95

Oban DISTILLERS EDITION = $64.00 a bottle (tax $15.95) = TOTAL $79.95

We have a very HIGH tax state. Close to 24%! Sucks to live in WA and like scotch.

$73.29 + 6% is great price. You got lucky.

I tried the Lagavulin DE the day before yesterday and it was great. It's a close call but both the Lagavulin DE and the 16 are very high on my list.

The Oban DE I tasted last night was ok. Not bad, but certainly not worth the $80 I paid for it.

I found the Laga DE to be interesting but at the same time somewhat a peculiar offering. Except for the sake of different, I wouldn't break my neck over it. The Oban was something special though - and I am not a memeber of the Oban faithful.
