Ledaig 15 and 20

Postby lohssanami » Mon Jan 14, 2008 6:13 pm

I couldn't find either of these reviewed in the whiskies section, and I read all the threads in the past about Ledaig NAS and such. Does anyone have any idea if either of these are good? If they are anything like the Tobermory 10 I tried or the NAS that was lambasted here, I'll avoid them.

The following thread made good mention of the 15.

I read a review of the Ledaig 20 on whiskyguild, but the guy that gave it an 88 had given the Tobermory 10 an 87. OUCH!!!

I appreciate any advice or comments you can supply.

Thanks...

Yeah...I like the pic Willie.

I'll definitely keep an open mind about this distillery, and thanks for the detailed help in your post Mikeymad. All of this certainly helps me out.

Cheers!

Another thanks for the pic Willie, I remember it well! Their tour wasn't much to talk about but the setting and the rest of the town was pleasant enough, and on a sunny day too!

Cheers!

I am not very keen on the Ledaig or Tobermory. The Tobermory is a correct whisky (i.e., drinkable), which has no left me extraordinary memories. The quality is quite average. However, in the early 1970s , the distillery has produced some beautiful Tobermory and Ledaig. If you can, go for the vintage 1972. From what I read, the Tobermory and Ledaigs distilled now are promising.
