Crown Royal XR and cask no. 16

Postby velocci » Tue Nov 27, 2007 7:06 pm

Hi there, is this bottle at $180 worth buying for my (unopened) canadian whisky collection? Also is the cask No. 16 a one time offering or are they going to have it every year?

I asked at a local store and was told the XR was released for last year, and the Cask No. 16 is this years release. A friend told me the XR was worth every penny, but for the money I picked up the Cask No. 16 for $99. It is extremely smooth and worth purchasing in my opinion. The XR was very tempting, but at $169 a 750ml I don't care to know how it tastes.

Cask 16 will be an everyday item 750ml and 375ml

XR is limited It contains "some" of the remaining production of the Waterloo Diatillery. 169 is a good price. Should retail about 199 depending on the market and price has increased each time they (Diageo) releases it.

Cheers,
