There's a store near me with one bottle for about $70. I don't recall seeing an age statement. Has anyone had this stuff before? What's it like? Is that a good price?
Hopefully someone will be along shortly to be a little more definitive than I!
Definetly buy you won't be dissappointed on price or content.
I am certain that age has much to do with this, but at this point there is no possible way I could describe this whisky as delicious. I do hope it will imporve quite a lot with age.
Or as one of my tasters said "It's like a whisky with a shot of Bombay Sapphire in it".
Anyway, here you go:
It is indeed a very different kind of whisky. Begins innocent enough in the nose and the palate with some nice smooth, sweet honey and citrus tones. But then it quickly explodes with a mimosa-riffic tingle, not something I've experienced with a whisky before. It all fades a little faster than I'd like, but it does leave a pleasant aftertaste.

No, no, Killer---"whale" is a marine mammal, "Wales" is a country.
(I am assuming that your actual surname is Welsh, and you aren't already making the joke that I am. If I am mistaken, never mind.)

Does anyone know how to tell what year it was bottled?
Sometimes there will be a code on the bottle. Although each distillery differs a bit I'm sure, generally the first letter/number is L, meaning Lot, and a 6, for example, signifying the year 2006. If you email the distillery with the full code, I'm sure they can give you exact details, or not, if it's a secret!
It's very very expensive too. £30 for a young (~5yo ?), 46% malt !! Is there a standard bottling that is worse value for money ? I can't think of one.
I'd like to like it. The distillery is a stones throw from me, but I can't.
Nice bottle though.
The dates are usually printed directly onto the bottle in small black type (hard to see), as mentioned before, month and year.
