Ardbeg Almost There

Postby duckmcf » Tue Apr 03, 2007 5:33 am

Hi Everyong,
I just checked out the Ardbeg website (for the first time in a long time) and noticed that they have, "Almost There", listed for 30quid.
Has anyone tried it yet?

Excellent news, my deposit was accepted and the order entered on March 29th! With luck, Almost There will be here by May... such a sad place for whisky in which I live....

It may only be ordered by the case and I'm fixing the mistake I made with Ardbeg Still Young in only ordering one case and waiting until I needed more to try a reorder (now sold out at Glenmorangie, which is the only Ardbeg supplier the LCBO deals with). So I ordered cases of Almost There, not bottles...

I find it very easy to remember actually , the first time i met Jackie she asked me my number and ws amazed i could remember it as most members couldn't remember theirs , just said "Dead easy , Battle of Hastings !"
Now my SMWS Membership number is another matter.......

Very well done Gordon and Les! :D

Gordon, I sincerely hope your smws membership number isn't 1263.......

True, but the most unlucky fact is that King Harold fought off Harald Hardråde of Norway who was also "almost there" .......

No point calling these good events or bad--they are history, and very likely none of us of British extraction would exist if things had not happened just as they did.

Lovers of language can certainly be happy about the Norman invasion, since it made English the language it is today. Folks who would like more consistent spelling rules wouldn't be too pleased, though.

And it was only meant as meandering philosophical musing--no taking it too seriously on my part!
