Bruichladdich 21 year old info.

Postby r900p » Mon Mar 19, 2007 12:44 pm

I'm currently catelogueing my collection and i've run out of ideas t find info on one particular bottle.

Its a Bruichladdich 21 year old cream label, bruichladdich word is black and islay is gold. It has a cream diamond on the back, with double gold award and best worldwide whisky in competition as well as two round gold coin designs, one looks like a uk pound coin. The bottle comes boxed again cream but all edges and a light brown. On the front of the box folds out a map, however the seal is still intact so i can't give any info. On the bottle are the numbers PB09 92/179 , 23:46 L2044.

Any info would be gretly appreciated i have checked collections of bruichlladich on the web and am no the wiser, i hope to atach a picy shortly.

There are two main series of those earlier 'Laddies.

I have various ones in my own collection, but the only 21y/o I have is this one, which I think is slightly different to yours, but from the same era.

Check your label as many of these are Italian imports - does it say "Rinaldi" or "Moon"?

the bottling just before the one M_T has pictured came in a wooden box and the paper that the label is printed on its ribbed white.

i have the one after, the one that came with the square black box

Here's a slightly older one (I understand), but 15y/o not 21y/o:

I've looked everywhere for even a slight picture, even private collections that are on the web, who would you suggest emailing about it, i'm thinking Bruichladdich but they'd only be helpful on bottlings since 2001.

the fisch looks very simaler to the one i have on my 21yo which i know wasone of the last 21yo editions before change over. it is also very simaler in shape to the like of the old fettercairn and tall jura bottle fisch's that were all bottled by w+m now at grangemouth. the fisch looks a lot newer that the ones that m-t posted. so, going on that info i recon its a late 1980's to early 1990's bottling.

Here's the one I have.
I'm thinking this is the one you mentioned.
