To be a little more specific, it shows a bit of peat, a bit of fruitiness (I'm a bourbon fan, I want flavor), without being overbearing toward any particular taste element. It isn't necessarily subtle, but it IS inoffensive without being bland.
It's not something that is readily available in my part of the world so it's more of a treat when I do get it. It's also a good scotch to give to those who are new to single malts. It's a little like a good cognac in that respect.
