DYC belonging to Pedro Domeqc was merged one time with Allied Lyons and when Lyons was demerged out came Allied Domecq. Before that DYC had bought Lochside in 1973.
Lochside remained closed for only two years (from 1971 on) when Destilerias Y Crianza Del Whisky, abbreviated to DYC, acquired the distillery in order to improve the quality of the Spanish blends by using Scottish malt whisky. Most of the whisky produced at Lochside was shipped to Spain until 1996 when the last of the mature whisky left the distillery warehouse.
DYC was a part of Allied Domecq.
Allied Domecq is no longer, but DYC whisky is still made.
