Postby kildalton » Tue Oct 03, 2006 12:39 pm

Hallo everybody, I'd like a piece of advise.

I can choose among these :

which one Would You suggest me?
(I know 1970 should be very good...)

Many Thanks

If I may ask a question here:

My own personal collection contains 1965, 1967 and then every year from 1971 to 1987 EXCEPT 1972

If you choose not to take the 1972 and if it is at a reasonable price, could you please let me have details of where I could get this one, maybe also the 1966 and/or the 1968.

No problem!
You can see the place here : ... filla.htm#

To my knowledge they've not a web site but I think they ship outside Italy.
Anyway the day after tomorrow i'll be on spot and I'll be able to tell You the price.
(They are not cheap. the owner is a Macallan collector and knows his work :) ,
anyway if I remember well should be around 250 euros but I could be wrong).

If you need furher help do not hesitate to ask me, it's a pleasure to collaborate with whisky enthusiast!

If you click on the image in the lower left corner you'll see a piece of forniture, Macallan are there![/img]

Wow! Didn't know they were worth that much --though I guess by raising the price of todays so called 18 year olds, Edrington is indirectly raising the price for older bottlings too --thanks guys! :x

The 77' is really nice. Exceptionally smooth. The best I've tasted is the 74. Let us know what you ultimately decide to get.

Thanks Oliver for the advise.
I'm considering the 1974 even if I' m inteersted in a 60's vintage(older= better?Well not all the times...I don't know in this case).
I'll let You know.

Or I'm sure Giuseppe Begnoni,
(in Bologna, Italy) also has those Macallan's for sale. He's definitely one of the top Macallan collectors in the world!

I need to look at my wallet first.
The 1972 was sold twice this year on Ebay Germany, but unfortunately I missed bidding at the end of both.
They sold for €178 and €191 respectively.

I still think that the 1972 should be selling under €200 and not above, although the €220 could be expected within the next 2 years.
