One thing I've noticed is that in the US, bourbon is REALLY cheap compared to what we pay for it up here. Compare this to SMSW which is about on par up here with what is advertised at BEVMO (CA).
My goal is to buy some rare (=hard to find in Europe) whiskey's to take home.
I heard a lot of good stories of the Georg T. Stagg, and I can buy it in Belgium for about Euro 150 (= USD 190).
Are the bourbouns mentioned also available tax free on the international airports?
If anybody has more suggestions, please don't hesitate, and show me around in the wonder world of US whiskeys

Park Ave does have quite a few special bottlings, but to be honest their prices are pretty high, even for New York. Astor Wine has MUCH better prices (if you are in New York)

I managed to buy a bottle of Georg T Stagg and a special release of Dallas Dhu, bottled for Binnys.
I tasted a lot of bourboun in hotel as well, and was impressed by the Bookers.

Hey Jan the Man! Did you have the chance to taste the George T Stagg at the hotel too? Congratulations on that purchase, it's great! Careful, it's a biggy, you almost need an eyedropper to limit the amount you get in your mouth at once! Which bottling did you get, how much alcohol is it? Enjoy it, I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it!
