Lagavulin 16 Distiller's Edition (PX Cast)

Postby BCE22 » Fri Jan 27, 2006 3:48 am

Hi Everyone:

Based on a few recommendations that were given I am considering purchasing a bottle of Lagavulin 16 DE. It appears to be a pretty rare bottle to get in my area (RI, USA).

Before trying hard to purchase one, I was wondering what your opinions are of this bottle and how it compares to the regular Lagavulin 16 and other Islays.

Best Regards,

-Brad

Great stuff. Made me want to go out and buy a bottle of Pedro Ximenez sherry to see what it was about. I like that, too! Hey, I'm in the wrong thread now.

I tried this at a tasting event last year, and it was superb. If it's available in your area, get it!

In my opinion one of the best whiskies money can buy!!
It's richer and far more sweet than the standard 16yo. It has a sweet, burnt and smoky taste which is not to be found elsewhere. Distinct, an ace over aces!!
I always must have at least 2-3 bottles at home in case of emergency!!

Buy it!! I think you'll be very happy with your decision.

I think this is a wonderful whisky. It has that extra dimension over the regular Lagavulin, which is no slouch by any means.
