'Talisker lite' is a fantastic descriptor

I think it's the best 'standard' blend out there just now, by a long way, over the likes of Black Bottle and The Famous Grouse (although the new Black Grouse is also very good indeed but more 'peat' than 'spicy/peppery', therefore a different beast from the IoS8). JMs comments in the Bible are spot on, I think, and I do like IoS8 very much indeed. The 12, if you can find it, is also very good but smoother.

IoS8 is very popular here in pubs amongst the older punters and they know a thing or two.
