1970ies Cutty Sark

Postby ragsrobin » Fri Apr 24, 2009 10:36 am

We found an unopened bottle of Cutty Sark when clearing my grandparents' house at Easter, and as far as we can tell it's from the 70ies. I see from the website that they can help identify the age, so I'll get a picture off to them.

Now, the label is partly torn, on the other hand there is a box in fairly good condition. As we're not really blend drinkers, our likely plan at the moment is to have a NMWL Trondheim tasting with this bottle, a newly purchased bottle of Cutty Sark and the blend's signature malt(s). However, before we plan to quaff it all, I just wanted to confirm that there's NOT a collector out there dying to lay her/his hands on it. I assume it IS "worthless"?

Any opinions?

Ragsrobin,

It sounds like a nice tasting event.
I agree with you regarding the value. I think it would be hard to get much for it. Good luck with the tasting!

A bottle of urine filled in the 1970's is worth the same as one filled today. That's all I have to say about Cutty Sark.

Yeah, well, I've never tried it, but then I don't like blends much.

Thanks for the replies :D
