Whisky Live Los Angeles 2009
Santa Monica Civic Auditorium.
Tuesday 20 October 2009
Whisky Live LA debuts this year at the spacious Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, conveniently located just blocks away from the beautiful Santa Monica beaches, energetic nightlife, and famous Santa Monica pier. Easy access from downtown, Beverly Hills and the northern suburbs, plus ample on-site parking make the Civic Auditorium the ideal place to host the largest and most diverse whisky tasting in California. The finest whiskies in the world coupled with gourmet dining from one of Los Angeles' premier caterers and an outside cigar bar make Whisky Live LA an experience not to be missed.
Visit the Whisky Live Los Angeles 2009 website for more information and to book your tickets.
The voucher system is supposed to encourage responsible drinking. I know there's been some debate here in the past as to whether it really does that, and as to what extent the system is a nuisance.

October is a good month!
Let's try to meet up at some point. Ganga has met us both, so he can do the intros.
I sampled 28 whiskies. Highlights included some great new stuff from Scott's, Yamazaki's offering of the elements that go into both their malts and Hibeki and a chance to chat with lots of very knowledgable brand ambassadors.
The Maker's and HP masterclasses were both fantastic. Maker's offers a chance to taste their new make, one year old and nine year old along with the standard stuff. And the HP brand amabassador, his name escapes me, was hilarious; it was whiskey class meets stand up comedy.
Thanks to all at WM who made it possible, and I look forward to more LA area events in the future.
