Today (4 Aug 07), I stumbled onto a local bottle shop that has 8 or so bottles of Port Charlotte PC5 for AUS$110 (which is around 45quid or US$90).
As a reflex action I grabbed 2 bottles, but I'm wondering what the current price and availablity is on the world market and whether or not I should go back and grab some more?
here in Germany it sold for around 70.-€ when it was new and available. It sold out within 14 days and some of these bottles are circled at ebay and other whisky auctions now and have reached the 150.-€ mark easily and are on their way to even higher regions. So whether you drink or collect, go and buy.

Yes, I too wonder about the same. I would assume it would, maybe not as much though as the original, but because there are few Port Charlotte's on the market due to lesser production, and Bruichladdich not selling much stock.

No worries there. I had the cork out of one of bottles seconds after getting them home. I had a quick sample and I have to say that it's one of those rare times (for me anyway) where the description on the flyer that came with the bottle matches what I was tasting. "Islay, without the medicine". Exactly. I found it to be very powerful and quite hot on the palate and very peaty. Terrific! Like an Arbeg Very/Still Young, but not.
Anyway, I'm going to a whisky tasting in a couple of weeks where all the participants have to bring along a single bottle. This big, bad boy should raise a few eyebrows....
