Hi all,

I too have to say TAMDHU TEN. A lighter (delicious) easy tasting dram. The best part (at least here in Maine) is it's low cost
(about twenty dollars). I'd be a fool not to put aside a few bottles of Tamdhu 10.

Regards,

I would nominate Bunnahabhain , not many people get past the standard O.b.'s which is a shame as there are some stunning I.B.'s.....

C'est moi! I've not gotten beyond the OB Bunnies . The 12, 18, Darach Ur were enjoyable whiskies.

Still, I guess my vote has to go to the Caol Ila 12yo. It certainly is not overpriced and has been consistently very good. My vote for "underrated" is because of they many who may never try it because of the more famous other Islays.

The Caol Ila 12 is my favourite Islay malt out of those tasted so far. I've tasted the standard OBs from all the distilleries, but not the whole range of expressions.

I would agree that Balblair and Cragganmore certainly are underated. Many malts are a mystery to many whisky fans as they are only available at specialist retailers etc. When did anyone ever see a bottle of Balblair in a supermarket/off licence, I have only ever seen Balblair at an off licence once, shame.
Can i also venture that Glenfarclas is also an under exposed malt considering some of the excellent quality of their whisky.

Glen Moray NAS is underrated in my humble opinion. It's cheap so many may assume it's not very good.

This is totally true in spain cardhu is the most famous whisky malt and the best seller. Probably because was the first malt to be introduce in the pubs and bars. The other malts except glendffidich are totally unknown.

My dirty secret (& most under rated Malt) is Balmenach. Very rarely hear it discussed but it is cheap as chips and a great value malt. I used to be able to get Deerstalker 18yo for well under 50Euro. Got a lovely one from Raymond in Bladnoch lately

Is it a fact that it is not bottled much ????

I agree; for me this is still a very good whisky ( so much better than the normal 12 ) and I love the taste of it.
It is however a bit expensive I think...

And what about Glengoyne? I don't read too much about them here ( lately ) but I love this stuff.

I noticed that you'd nabbed this one (the edition with "SINCE 1833" embossed within a raised oval on the glass surface) in
