Thanks a bunch!
Do you have a 50 year old vintage waiting to be discovered by a worthy collector? Post your details here and find out!

No...unfortunately, I didn't find one. Just found the pic...
Nice bottle Bunkermania! Did you buy it when it was still available in retail?

Your 2004 Uigeadail should be dated before day 315 (L4 315 14:32 4ML), but possibly after 212 (L4 212 00:49 4ML). If it is after 212, it would be interesting to know the exact code just to narrow down the date the label was changed. I've been able to find examples like yours (Traditional Strength in gold on front and no post code) up to day 212, and the earliest after the change (Non-Chill Filtered in gold on front and with the post code) is day 315.

Ha, you're right! L4 212 03:48 4ML with Traditional Strength in gold lettering

I've heard "L8" current 10 is released in the UK, but I haven't seen them in the States yet. I also heard there is a new sticker on the 2008 releases showing the "Whisky of the Year" from Jim Murray. Can anyone confirm this sticker on the box?
Thanks...
That's on the box in the Tesco near me now. Some have it, some don't, so it looks like the new stock coming through.

but I'm not sure if the Glenmo distilled 10 will have a sticker on the new box. Probably not as it is a different distillation. Just me thinking out loud...

The box looks different Tim......

Technically the 4ML is the bottling line and not the code for a particular distillery but saying that I think every Ardbeg I have was bottled with a 4ML code.
Most of the Glenmorangie bottles I have are all 3ML but my current Laphroaig Quarter Cask also has a 3ML code.

John McGill wrote:Tim, my 2004 Uigeadail has the following code L4 272 01:31 4ML, i.e after 212 and I'll dig it out in the morning to check the label for you.
Spirit of Islay wrote:Following Tims guidelines for the Code (which i think are right ) has thrown up some interesting things while rummaging through my Ardbeg bottles , the main one was the Ardbeg Very Young , seems there could have been 3 batches of this done on Day 210 , Day 258 and Day 351 !
And there were at least 3 batches of 1977 which i thought there was only one ! Perhaps the first batch was the 2,400 bottles that was mentioned on LFW ?

Hey John...I recently received a 2004 Uigeadail with code L4 272 04:22 4ML (US version - 750ml Brown-Forman), and the Traditional Strength, no Post Code and "Bottled in 2004" are still intact. It would seem that the label change has now been narrowed down to somewhere between 272 and 315. Similarly, the addition of the Post Code on Ardbeg 10 is somewhere between 271 and 313 of that same year so I am starting to think that the label change on these may be at the same time. A proverbial "monkey wrench" can be thrown in if your L4 272 has the label changes.

Could someone explain the large L as opposed to the small L at the start of the codes please? I have an 18 year old Glenmorangie with a large L, taking up 2 lines, followed by 7 114 3ML in the top line and underneath that line is 10:33. Does this mean that it was bottled in 1997?
