I will be attending my first Whisky Live next year in NYC and was curious if you see much vintage whisky at the event? I see from pictures many newer expressions..12 yesr. 18 year, etc. Do most distillers stick to the more popular whiskies as opposed to breaking out the rare and hard to find?
I would guess that the distillers would have more or less their standard range plus new launches on display with 1-2 "under the desk".
Head for the independents and take the chance to taste the rarer whiskies and some from silent distilleries.
The Fachan's right on target. Most of what you'll see will be what the distilleries have available for sale in the US...with a few surprises thrown in. There also tend to be a few new releases introduced at the show as well.
