Postby ChloeLeighton » Tue Jun 19, 2012 1:39 pm

The most exclusive whisky event ever to be held in Scotland will see connoisseurs paying up to £150 to sample some of the world's most revered and expensive drams.

Only 350 tickets will be available for Whisky Luxe at the iconic Scotch Whisky Experience (pictured) near Edinburgh Castle on Friday 7 September.

For £125 guests will receive a bag of coins enabling them to sample a range of rare whiskies. For £150 they will also receive a private nosing and tasting Masterclass from international whisky experts Charlie MacLean and Jonny McCormick. Proceeds from additional coin sales will be donated to charity.

Holders of three lucky 'Golden Tickets' will win high value gifts and experiences not readily available to the public.

Food, selected by whisky and food authority Martine Nouet and prepared by Scotch Whisky Experience Executive Chef David Neave, will be served, and entertainers will roam through the four storey building.

The elite red carpet event, so far staged only in India, is aimed at national and international enthusiasts, collectors, corporates and 'the dedicated luxury traveller.' It will be filmed and is scheduled for live broadcast over the internet.

Details of the whiskies to be sampled will be announced as they are confirmed.

Tickets can be booked on which also has latest news on the event.
