The online launch was followed by an evening Tweet Tasting, hosted by Steve Rush of The Whisky Wire, and featuring a host of whisky bloggers and well-known industry luminaries. The tasting was a huge success, trending at #5 in the UK on Twitter, and achieving a whopping 150,000+ tweet-reach and more than 2,000,000 timeline impressions – even beating out #Thunder on a night of storms across the UK!
This success was reflected in The Dram Team’s initial day of pre-order sales, with more than 200 boxes flying of their virtual shelves to over 60 eager customers: a blend of buyers across their one-off packs and 3, 6 and 12 month subscriptions.
The launch event will continue for one month, until 7 July, and the team behind the business will be making a series of announcements during this time about the brands they are working with, and future plans for innovative and exciting whisky-based products.
The Dram Team was founded by Chris Borrow, in partnership with Greg Dillon (owner/author at the award-winning http://www.greatdrams.com blog, and long-time spirits industry consultant) and James Glen.
After launch and upon sending out their first shipment of boxes in August, the team hope to take whisky-tastings-at-home to the next level with a series of interactive online events for their subscribers.
