The stunning collection of Scottish paintings, antiques, works of art, furniture, books and glass was set to go under the hammer at Edinburgh’s Lyon & Turnbull auction house.
Drambuie was renowned as a discriminating buyer and the collection, put together over the past 30 years, is regarded as one of the finest groups of Scottish paintings and fine art in existence.
The sale was expected to raise more than £3m. However, there are no current plans to dispose of Drambuie’s renowned collection of Jacobite glass and related items, recognised for its national cultural significance.
