Scotch and green tea, a popular way to drink whisky in China, is proving a successful combination for distillers, with exports to China up 124 per cent. Demand in other key Asian markets was also particularly strong, with exports to South Korea, Thailand and Taiwan all showing a significant increase.
Showing a comparatively small seven per cent growth in export on last year, the buoyant US market maintains pole position as Scotch whisky’s most valuable export market.
