Benromach Traditional has created renewed interest in the Speyside malt since it was launched by owners Gordon & MacPhail in May.
Now the whole range, which includes a cask strength, an 18 year old, and a 25 year old a Vintage and a 21 year old Tokaji wood finish have been released in a smart colour coded series.
There was even quiet a bit of smoke in the initial taste but it vanished in the finish and was replaced with the taste of dusty malt. I had the opportunity to try it in Calgary 10 days ago but didn't because I thought my taste buds were overwhelmed from all the different whiskies. I felt that a young whisky like the Benromachs & Arrans needed fresher palates.
I really liked it and will buy a bottle as soon as it's available here.
