These awards honour the very best venues in the world, and developed out of the Great Whisky Bars of the World series. This comprises an accreditation system to recognise excellence in whisky. With three levels, Gold, Silver and Bronze, we recognise any establishment, no matter how big or small, that celebrates whisky. Any premises that applied were accredited under the programme and received their certificate dependent on their range and quality of whisky.
Now you have a chance to influence the results, so head over to http://www.whiskymag.com/awards/whisky_bars/vote/ and vote for your favourite whisky bar.
Online voting closes 6th September 2012
The fact that the Highlander Whisky Inn, Craigellachie, Speyside, one of the late great Michael Jackson's favourite whisky bars, with 500+ single malts, doesn't get a mention makes your list of
whisky bars about as worthwhile as agreat
; excluding the Beatles.Best of the 60's music album
Instead of asking the real experts: the whisky writers, journalists and the people who actually write for Whisky Magazine to collate their knowledge of the great whisky bars around the world, you've proclaimed the great whisky bars to be anywhere that at least one of your members have been to. And that's why the new app called "great whisky bars 2012" I was sent is absolutely rubbish.
I wonder if Whisky Magazine relies on the same general contribution from its members in order to produce their monthly publication? Let's take anyone's unqualified opinion and call it "great."
We can assure you that the Highlander Inn, Craigellachie is listed and has received a gold medal for the past three years in a row.
