The most exclusive whisky event ever to be held in Scotland will see connoisseurs paying up to £150 to sample some of the world's most revered and expensive drams, which they will do using the event's currency; a bag of gold coins.
Each coin holds a certain whisky value, with the rarest and most exclusive drams requiring more coins. For every coin used £1 will be donated to two worthy charities; Macmillan Cancer Support & VOCAL (Voice of Carers Across Lothian).
Macmillan Cancer Support provide practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care and VOCAL (Voice of Carers Across Lothian), based in Edinburgh & Midlothian, support carers in all family or relationship settings, be they defined by kinship, partnership, friendship, affection or obligation.
Chloe Leighton, Manager of Whisky Luxe Edinburgh commented: "It is often our policy to donate proceeds of voucher sales at our Whisky Live shows to a charity, for Whisky Luxe we have chosen two worthy charities to partner with. Both do great work and we are delighted that we can help them through this exclusive evening".
Only 350 tickets will be available for Whisky Luxe at the iconic Scotch Whisky Experience near Edinburgh Castle on Friday 7 September. Food, selected by whisky and food authority Martine Nouet and prepared by Scotch Whisky Experience Executive Chef David Neave, will be served throughout the four storey building.
Masterclasses from whisky experts Charlie MacLean & Jonny McCormick will also be taking place all evening as well as the Scotch Whisky Experience Barrel Ride, and pourings from brand ambassadors in the Diageo Claive Vidiz Scotch Collection Room.
The elite red carpet event, so far staged only in India, is aimed at national and international enthusiasts, collectors, corporates and 'the dedicated luxury traveller.'
