Only 228 bottles of the new Aberfeldy 18 Year Old Single Cask bottling are available for sale. Distilled in 1991, it has been bottled to mark the retirement of Dewar's long serving Distilleries Manager, Chris Anderson, after 40 years in the industry, and remains just as it was in the cask - 54.9% alcohol by volume, no chill filtration and natural colour.
"Chris Anderson's Cask", as it is named on the label, was specially selected by Stephanie Macleod, Dewar's Master Blender, who describes it as having the honey and floral notes so typical of Aberfeldy Single Malt.
The Chris Anderson's Cask bottling (£170) is available only from Dewar's World of Whisky, Dewar's 5 star visitor centre based at Aberfeldy Distillery. Recently, the centre has introduced a new Cask Tasting Tour, priced at £12, which affords guests the opportunity to taste a 25 year old single malt direct from the cask, in addition to all the features of the regular tour.
