The Famous Grouse and The Macallan have recently launched a new concept called Fasan Ur (Gaelic for new fashion) – a range of culinary temptations aimed to enhance the enjoyment of whisky through a fusion of tastes and aromas.
On offer is a tapas style food menu which is accompanied by a range of sympathetic whisky-based drinks.
The combination has proved popular at a series of high profile events in London and a number of successful Fasan Ur dinners have also taken place at The Famous Grouse Experience in Crieff.
Meanwhile, The Scotch Whisky Heritage Centre on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile has recently unveiled Amber – its new-look restaurant, which offers a whisky expert as part of the dining experience. The unique service will assist customers in choosing from more than 270 different whiskies to compliment the menu.
Whisky will also be making a star appearance in some of the dishes on head chef David Neave’s menu, which will celebrate the very best of Scottish cuisine.
Amber is open daily from 10am-5pm and will also open for three nights a week – Thursday to Saturday, from the end of March.
