Rob and the funny thing was that the presenters on the radio station said that there is no such thing as Welsh whisky. Only Scottish and Irish. One of them went on to say as a joke unless there is a distillery at the top of Mount Snowdon.
Oh how little they know.

I heard the interview, which was very light-hearted on both sides. The Russian guy just said "malt whisky" - he didn't mention Welsh.
I heard it on Radio 5 in late afternoon.
I had my first taste of Penderyn in the Duty Free at Bristol Airport a couple of weeks ago. It was the Dec 05 bottling which I believe is highly rated in JM bible. I have to say I was dissapointed. I couldn't even get past the nose without wincing. Lots of caramel with a bitter leather taste / after taste. I will say that I had eaten an apple about 15 mins before drinking the malt so maybe my palate wasn't so clean.
I will give it another go at some stage but won't be buying a bottle at £31 quid a pop!!
