Oops. You're right Lawrence - I didn't read the original post with due care.
I'll keep an eye open for his The Whisky Distilleries of Scotland & Ireland. Was that the (leather bound?) edition of Barnard for which he provided an intro? I don't think many were published - and I know many of those that do exist, were presented to high heid yins in the whisky business.

As an aside he lives in New Zealand
Actually, unless he has moved in the last 12 months, (which I confess could be possible) he actually lives here in Sydney. He and I meet up occasionally at SMWS meetings, although he has missed the last few meetings, so as I say, perhaps he has crossed the Tasman Sea. (That being the body of water that separates Australia and New Zealand!

I can probably get in touch with him reasonably easily if you like?
Philip actually presented an interesting and entertaining plenary lecture at the 2003 Australian Malt Whisky Convention where he led us through the journey he went on in re-tracing Barnard. (Which is what the book you're enquiring about is all about!)
Cheers,
Admiral
Yes please

Dear Admiral,
I would not mind if you could get in touch with him and to know where I could find one copy of its book.

Hi Lawrence,
I would be very please if you can send me the link. I tried to googled, but could not find what I was looking for.

Best regards
Patrick
Thank you, but
Hi Lawrence,
Thank you for the link, but the link was unfortunately for the Schweppes guide and not the "Whisky Distilleries of Scotland", a very hard to find book!

Will need his address
Hi Admiral,
Could you please send me his post office box address? Everyone is mixing the "Schweppes guide" he wrote with the "Whisky Distilleries of Scotland".
Thank you

It looks like Lawrence has located some copies for you.
If you are still unsuccessful, I have Philip's post office box address where you can write to him directly, if necessary.
Send me a Private Message if required.
Cheers,
Admiral

Probably desperately out of date now but you can buy Morrice's tribute to Barnard here - £425 though!!

I would be interested in Philip Morrice's contact details if someone would like to private message them to me. Thanks.

Re: Whisky Distilleries of Scotland & Ireland - Phlip Morric
I have read these interesting comments with a little amusement and let me assure everyone that I am alive and well and, indeed, living in Sydney and not New Zealand, although I did go there recently to look at the remnants of their whisky industry. I am currently writing "The Guide to the Whiskies of Tasmania". If anyone is interested in that I will send them a 'teaser' by e-mail. I am also bringing my Barnard re-write "The Whisky Distilleries of Scotland and Ireland" up to date but that is a much bigger task and I am currently looking for a publisher.
I am afraid that the 1987 publication rarely comes on the market and when it does it is usually around the GBP 400 mark. It was a very limited edition and most copies were purchased by the industry or given as corporate gifts. Not my idea but the publisher invariably calls the shots. Happy to sign any unsigned copies. The re-write will be at a much more affordable price.
"The Schweppes Guide to Scotch" is around on e-bay etc. at reasonable prices. I might up-date that too one day but it is the distillery book that has priority.
I hope that helps to clarify things.
