Looking for whisky book on detailed maturation process?

Does anyone know a good book that describes the maturation process of whisky in cask in detail?

I’m especially interested in if there is any difference in the maturation process if the cask is ex bourbon or ex sherry and also the process that's called "rancio".

Philip Hills' - "Appreciating Whisky" is about the best you can get on the science bit. Absolutely fascinating.

I agree one of the best books I've read - although a little scientific
