Whats the reason for minis?

Postby Trendscom » Wed Mar 05, 2003 5:25 pm

I live in South Carolina, we are a mini bottle state ( restaraunts, and bars ) but no one can tell me why. like why did minis come about? how much do modern minis hold? Ive heard 1.5 ounces, 1.6 ounces, and 1.7 ounces. I havent found a single person or website with a clue, so i thought maybe there is a collector who might be able to help me. Thanks Rod

I was talking to someone who's setting up an Irish bar in South Carolina and was lamenting the fact that he couldn't put up the large bottles with the optics like in most Irish pubs.

I think he was saying it's something to do with taxation, although I can't remember the exact details.

You should go to this pub when it's opened...

It's in Charleston, but I suppose South Carolina is a big place. I think it's called Madra Rua. It has just opened.

I don't know how good it is, but it's worth a try.

I'll think I'll have your answer to your question about the mini's trendscom!
One said to me that the bars in South Carolina have to pour a legal measure to the customer, and in order that they don't give you to less or to much for the same price, they'll give you a mini, so you allways have they right measure of a spirit you have ordered...

Hope that this will shine some light in this matter...

Slainte,

Erik
