Johnny Walker minature box set?

Postby Chalky » Tue Mar 05, 2002 12:30 am

I seen a box set of johnny walker whiskeys available from Heathrow airport. The box set included 5 minatures, red, black, gold, green and blue label.

I was flying from heatherow so I didn't want to carry the set about with me, the price tag of £70 seemed a little high also.

Then, on a recent trip to Amsterdam I found a small shop selling the same box set for 60 euros, about £38.00 I bought a set home with me but gave them to my father for a birthday present.

Does anyone know of a place within the UK where I can purchase another set for myself. Now I know I can purchase the set for under half price of that available in the airport I don't really want to pay over the odds.

Does anyone know if Johnny Walker has a web site?

Thanks for you help folks.

hi Chalky,

I´ve been looking for the JW website, but only found the UDV adress (http://www.udv.com look at the brands profile).

At the german online-shop www.thewhiskystore.de you can find the box for 40 Euro !! So I think you can find a better offer than 38 Pounds in England.
Good luck.

Thanks for the info.

I found the Johnnie walker web site.
http://www.johnniewalker.com/ for a selection of different countrys.

It does seem strange however that they claim JW comes from Scotland but have no british/english web site.

I always have the shop in germany if I don't find one in the UK.

regards

Lee

EDRADOUR

EDRADOUR 10- recently came across the old expression with the watercolour label for $53.I didn't buy it because I'm not a huge fan of the current expression, which I find interesting and flavorful but not what I want from a scotch.I then came across a writer who thought the new style was "bigger than the old style, and a bit heavy on the sherry"(DAVE BROOM).This made me think that maybe I would prefer the older expression. So, for those of you who have tried both could you please compare them. thank you.

Bought some last year (April 2001) and it was really good.

Don't know if it was the new edition or not.

It was fairly fat and not paticularly tall.

I'm not sure if that is your idea of squat.

Hi,

I do love Edradour, and found some Signatory bottles from 1976, and as you know they only bottle single cask single malt whiekies.
Very much enjoyable........

Slainte,

Erik
