I recently inherited a 1994 and 1999 bottle of sealed collectors edition JD Barrelhouse 1. Both of them seem to be in excellent condition with wood box, tags, and registration certificate intact. Have tried to google info on these bottles but what I find is conflicting and does not offer much information. I know nothing about whiskey but figured perhaps they had some value to collectors or fans of JD. I actually just happened to save these as I visited my mothers house as she was about to toss them in the trash!
Any info would be very much appreciated.
Barrelhouse 1 is one of the oldest warehouses at the distillery. Built as one of the first post-prohibition warehouses, it's seven-story design was found to be the ideal elevation for the aging of Jack Daniel's Whiskey. This 750ml bottle was filled with 94% proof Jack Daniel's Whiskey and commemorates the heritage of Barrelhouse 1. This bottle was released in 1994 but then they released about another 200 bottles in 1999 when they found a 'lost barrel'.
Originally sold for around $90, I've seen it for sale online for $200 to $675.
