London forum users --get together

Postby JimHall » Fri Apr 08, 2005 1:05 pm

I was unable to attend Whisky live London because I was in Scotland. Ironically I will be in London during Whisky Live Glasgow.
Would any of the Forum users in the London area fancy a low key get together in London. I am sure we could organise it very easily.

I live in Bristol but go to London quite regularly. It would be great to meet up with some other whisky fans at some point.

Absolutely, live just outside of, and work in London. I've got a wedding around that time but if times work out it'd be cool. You have an idea for venue?

Once we get a few names and availablitiy then we could set a date ( any date really) and venue to suit everyone as much as possible. I am in Scotland/ London 50% of the time.

I live in Ascot, so London is not too far away for me. A Saturday afternoon/evening would normally work out for me as long as I know in advance. As to a venue, if we have enough SMWS members (I am one), the London clubroom would be an obvious one .... Members can take up to 3 guests along, so that might work out (?)

Cheers, Lex

Lex good idea. I am not a member but will be soon so that would be fine. I would definately look to give plenty advance warning of the date/time.

Guys

I'm a member of the SMWS too so signing people in shouldn't be a problem. I'd imagine that most of the guys that come along would be. A South African mate of mine is a member and would be up for it too.

A good pub beneath it in the Bleeding Heart Tavern too. The only negative would probably be location in that Farringdon isn't the easiest place to get to from anywhere other than east London. Mind you, I don't know of anywhere else that would be as suitable and if it's a weekend then there's no problem with trying to get from work etc.

Sat afternoon / evening would be cool with notice...

Cheers

Si

I hope all the London forum members are ok. There are terrible pictures on the TV at the moment.

Thought the same, Aidan, as more and more news are coming in. Another nightmare.

Will still be there a week on Saturday. The worst thing we could do is change are behaviour or values because of this crime.
