I wouldn't recommend a Signatory for a beginner. They're an independent bottler. They buy casks from distilleries, and age them in their own barrels and warehouses. The whiskies can vary widely from the standard distillery profiles, so they're kind of a gamble.
For a celebratory dram or three, I would suggest finding an offering from a distillery you like, but a higher end. If you like the Macallan 12, try the 18. Or if you enjoyed the regular Bunna, try their 18 or even 25. Something along those lines.

The OMC would be the one i get. Any Dallas Dhu you can find will be good, but this first one looks interesting if you push the boat out a bit, the second one is a favourite,

Or try some Japanese, this Hakushu is tasty and the Hanyu is on my shopping list too, and also a closed distillery.
