Bruichladdich yellow submarine?

Postby Fscott » Sat Mar 19, 2011 7:11 pm

On holiday in southern France right now. On the way home, I need to pass through BIlbao again. There, I saw in shop that was closed a bottle of Yellow Submarine. Depending on the price, I might pick it up. Any opinions?

A simple but easy drinking whisky (http://www.whisky-news.com/En/tasting1.html#19OCT06), probably suitable for sipping in the South of France

Thanks, Corbuso. Depending on the price, I might get it. I also saw a few more Bruichladdichs, as well as a few Balvenies through the window. We'll see...

It's like I'm chatting with myself here...
Thanks to Corbuso's info and inspired by the 80 euro price tag, I instead picked up a Glen Garioch 15. I passed on a Ledaig 7 and a Ledaig sherry finish that now have me intrigued.

Others have commented here, but still, what is up with Bruichladdich? There 10 and 12 are priced comparatively well, but the 15, 3D and 18 were 20-30 euros more than very good whiskies of similar age/characteristics.
