Laphroaig 30yo

Postby lwknigh » Thu Mar 15, 2007 9:08 pm

Hello everyone
Need some info,I asked Santa Claus for a bottle of 30yo Laphroaig,Stanta
came thru,my bottle came naked,no tube,no box(like the UK version),its a 750ML bottle,does anyone know how to get the box that comes with it in the UK,I e-mailed Laphroaig,they said nope,not available,and don't tell me to get one of those boxes the liquor stores sell(they look like womans handbags)I have its stored in a 10yo Laphroaig tube with a sticky on it saying if I croak drink this at my wake.I coild drink it and solve the problem but then I'd have to buy another bottle.Cheers

I had the same question when I bought mine. The store owner said no box. I was hesitant to carry a $250 bottle of whisky home on the subway with no box. It got home safe and sound though and it is truly exceptional. Best medicine money can buy.

I have a box! (They were released for the duty free/US market.)

If you want it, all I need is the cost of the postage. PM me.

PS What a great dram...

I still havn't figured out if these bottles that are in the US are the original 1997 bottles or a newer one.

Hi Len,

What is the code on the right side of the front label (starts with an L)?

My bottling code is LS76527. Most Laphroaig bottlings I've seen in the stores are LF and LG and I bought an old dusty bottle of Laphroaig 10yo with an LU on it.

I have an educated guess for the Laphroaig bottling codes:

LS = 1997
LT = 1998
LU = 1999
LA = 2000
LB = 2001
LC = 2002
LD = 2003
LE = 2004
LF = 2005
LG = 2006

Any insights?

Well, my bottle of Laffie 30 has LQ0168 on the label and is definitely from the last batch (2006).
I know that most of the earlier bottles of the 30yo have a code starting with LK.

I had a feeling that the Euro bottlings had different codes.
