White Horse Blended Scotch Whiskey

Postby ASP » Fri Jan 27, 2017 2:25 am

I inherited an unopened bottle of White Horse Blended Scotch Whisky Serial No EA 5106787 with a shoulder label showing imported by Jardine Matheson & Co. (Hong Kong) but bottled in Scotland which I know would be at least 60 years old. Can someone tell me its age and approximate value? Many thanks! ASP

ASP,

Jardine Matheson & Co. has been the exclusive importer of White Horse since the very early 1900's, and your mention of the Serial # (EA 5106787) is only part of the information needed to accurately date your bottle for you... The other pieces of information we would need to see relate to the wording of the Royal Warrant, and the style of the label: Both underwent slight changes several times over the last 100 years.

If could show me 1-2 clear photos of the bottle (in a standing position) showing the main label, content level & type of cap used...I can give you a very close dating period for your bottle, and this will allow me to research the current value for you.

If you would like to know more about your bottle, post some photos here (or email me directly) and I will get you the answers you need!

Cheers,
Walter C Hurst
