I have a very old bottle of haighs whisky in a dimple bottle still sealed and intact complete with original box which is not so complete
Can anyone advise me about the history and value
of this item
this is the item number on ebay of a bottle identical to mine only like i said i have the original box the whisky came in
any advise would be very much appreciated

I have seen a number 1950's versions auctioned off at McTears which is probably the most respected whiskey auctioneer in Scotland. Unfortunately these only make between £50-100 sterling depending on quality and whether it comes boxed or not.

These were for all the bottles marked By Appointment to Her Majesty The Queen

1953 - present

However if you have one which is by

By Appointment to The Late King George VI.


By Appointment to His Majesty The King


They rise in value.

So have a good read of the lable and make sure you distinguish the fact if you are selling.
