Mackies Ancient Brand
Acquired a vintage bottle of Mackies Ancient blend. After some research I've found its a very rare hard to come by bottle. Thinking of sending it to online whiskey auctions. They are estimating it to sell for 2500 - 3000 pounds. I live in Chicago and and trying to find a local collector that might have av interest. Any feedback or suggestions when dealing with an auction house.

Re: Mackies Ancient Brand
Better to sell it with an EU whisky auction house.
Prices in the US for this type of bottle are 20-25% lower, based on the previous results of whisky auctions in US and EU.
Simply ship the bottle to the selected auction house and they will transfer the money afterwards...

Re: Mackies Ancient Brand
Wow - They sound a little "over-eager" on the bidding they hope to obtain for your bottle, I mean they aren't exactly Christie's or Bonhams !
Their only sale on one of these with the box, only took in £1,850.00 (2/3 what they quoted you)...roughly $2100 USD

Bonhams on the other hand sold one right here in the USA in 2015 for $3600....sometime it pay's to sell through a more reputable auction house.

Wish you luck though!
