I am trying to help someone out who has contacted me about this bottle.
I will try and post a picture later, but the label is only printed text, in a hand-writing style font. The bottle is numbered and is called:
The text says:
This bottle is number 'xxx' of a very select stock of rare
Pennsylvania straight rye whiskey.
This whiskey is 6 1/2 years old and is bottled exactly as it comes from the original barrels at 124 proof.
Bottled at Broad Ford, Pa
by A. Overholt & Co. Inc. and distributed by National Distillers Products Corp NY.
The bottled is signed by the President of the company.
There is nothing other than this text on the label!
The Bottle is very dark glass, it looks quite black.
Thanks for any help,
Broad Ford was an early Overholt location, so it is very possible the whiskey is, indeed, 50 or 60 years old -- it operated in the era immediately following Prohibition.
When you say the bottle is 'signed by the president of the company', do you mean hand-signed, or that a script signature is printed on the label? In the latter instance, that is standard on Old Overholt bottles.
Here's a link with info about Pennsylvania distillers/distilleries:
The signature looks like printed script, nit hand signed. Sorry, I should have made that clear in my original post.
Would you have any idea of the value of this bottle?
It is originally sealed and the person who owns it has had it from new in his family.
He is a USA resident and is trying to decide what to do with the bottle.

Guesswork only here -- but old Old Overholt bottles have gone on eBay recently from $35 up. The older, the better, in many cases. As you reach back toward Prohibition, the price rises steadily.
Personally, I'd love to drink it!
I am sorry, but this is not a bottle I have available.
Through my business, someone has asked me for an idea of its value - a service which I am pleased to offer where possible - and free of charge.
This bottle resides in the US and so far I have not been able to offer much help as to the value.
I will contact the seller and point him at this forum, if he wishes to sell, then I will be happy to help put you both in contact.
