Macallan Solar Eclipse

Postby Deactivated Member » Sat Mar 11, 2006 12:46 pm

Here's one from my personal collection which I am particularly pleased to have.

OK, so it's not an OB, it was bottled by the Chap who owns Kyrburg Castle, he has a gourmet restaurant and a very extensive whisky collection.
It seems he had this one bottled to celebrate the Eclipse.
It's a 20 year old Macallan 1979-1999 and according to the label, one of only 16 bottles.
This is Number 2 of 16.

PS. Is there a better way of posting a picture?

That surely will become gold in the future. Nice to have too, I love the label. Did you manage to get a taste of it?

No, I never managed a taste.
I found that the bottler was offering one Gourmet Dinner in his restaurant which included 6 whiskies, this being one of them.
The price for the meal and tasting, without accommodation, was around 200 GBP!
