Chivas Regal Royal Salute 1972?

Postby deepee » Fri May 20, 2016 3:04 am

Hello All

I have had this 70cl boxed and velvet bagged blue porcelain bottle of Royal Salute for many years.
I've forgotten exactly when I bought it but it was on an international flight, probably sometime in the 90's.
The unbroken seal has two numbers on it: LB72 172 so I'm assuming it was bottled in 1972.
Can anyone confirm this to be correct as well as what sort of value it may have to a collector?

Thanks

70 c/l bottles started about to the early 90s so that's the earliest it was bottled
not bottled in the 70/s

Thanks for the feedback, Richard.
The "72"'s must have some significance so I'll hang onto it and drink it on my birthday in 2072.
I'll be 120 by then so it should help perk me up.

I used to go out with a girl who worked at the Chivas bottling plant when I was in my teens. Had I not broken up with her, this wouldn't be a mystery!
Another one of life's lessons... :D
