Scapa 14 Year Old with canister printed upside down.

Postby mordipa » Mon Jan 26, 2015 4:49 pm

Does anyone know if a bottle of Scapa 14 Year Old with the canister printed upside down (so that the metal cap opens from the base) is of any particular special value to a collector?

The whisky itself is quite rare having not been produced since 2006 I believe. After writing to Pernod Ricard and sending them a photo of the Lot Code, they confirmed that it was a genuine bottle and manufacturing error.

Thanks for the advice. I have been collecting single malts for 25 years and spoke to many people in the industry and no one has ever heard of a canister printed upside down. It's strange that you should say that it's of no value. Anyway, I bought two bottles from the store. (Only one had the fault). I'll drink one and keep the other for an investment.

Maybe I've been reading too many specialist Postage Stamp catalogues?
:? :? Ah well.
