Forty Creek Port Wood

Postby velocci » Mon Sep 28, 2009 3:04 pm

Hi all, what does everything think of this Canadian Whisky? there is only 3000 bottles made and wondering if I should get one for my collection. Is it worth the $70can price tag?

You never know what it could be worth in the future, I would guess around what you payed for it even with only 3000 bottles out there.

I would buy a bottle...drink and enjoy it.

I just noticed that this whisky is 90 proof, a rarity in Canada. Makes the price a little more justifiable, I suppose. I wish John Hall would age his limited-edition whiskies longer, though. I think standard Barrel Select is a 6-year-old blend, and the special releases have an additional 2 years of finishing. In my experience Canadian whisky improves mightily with age. I bet a 12-year-old Forty Creek would go down quite nicely...
