I don't know how the whisky evolve with some breething as the bottle was just open. Maybe he need some time to open as the whisky was in the bottle for some years.
Not worth paying a premium at least.

Thanks Rich: You folks are up to Batch 32 already, I'm only seeing #30 around Seattle. I wonder how # 30, 32 are tasting. I stockpiled four bottles of #26 last year (which was excellent), and I'm getting ready to stock up again.
Or it didn't follow the Bruichladdich's act well at all.
Have you had batch 30? I've seen that floating around, but I think I read something elsewhere that indicated a very strong sherry note in the last few batches.

I haven't been posting in a while, but find myself buying more Whisky, and drinking more in the winter months, so I enjoy the forums more this time of year. Summertime comes, and we travel, and fish, my drinking turns more to wine.
Picked up a 2010 George T Stagg too, I should have no trouble keeping warm this Holiday season!

Welcome to A'bunadh. Certainly a great sherried dram! I have a sweet tooth, so it is one of my favorites.
I like #36, sweet, raisins, fruit, sherry, and creamy. Sweet raisins and heat on the finish; But I detect a tad of bitterness from oak. I'm sure it will dissipate over time. Still a very nice dram!
I've had other A'bunadhs were that more balanced, and without the oak bite that #36 has.
