Funny, that it should be mentioned but a friend of mine's first experience w/ single malts was an Ardbeg 30, Signatory. Another friend's first experience was the Lagavulin 23, MM Mission Series.

The first single malt I ever tried was Laphoaig 10, and I quickly followed it with a Bowmore Cask Strength. Had I not already been drunk and numb when I started on the whisky that night in Harrogate, I might never have fallen prey to the whisky bug.
