Speyburn 1975 37 year Clan Cask cask 3413 55.4% OB

Color
Burnt umber
Nose
Powerful sherry and hard to describe but what I would call earthy. There is some cigar smoke, chocolate , blackberry, plum pudding, figs, and treacle toffee.
Taste
A massive and intensive dark fruit blast, almost like a smoothie. Very creamy one of the most full fat type of palates you can get. Its all on dark fruits black cherry, blackberry, blackcurrants, dark red plum skins, hints of almonds, slightly nutty and it is crisp but with an oily profile also.
Finish
Long, sweet, luscious
Comments
With water :-
The palate is slightly less fragrant, still full bodied and more rounded now.
Lovely.

This is my second bottle of this, if you hold it neat in your mouth for around 30 seconds, it has in my view one of the best taste experiences out there.
This review was as soon as bottle was opened.
A great bottle, if it was labelled Glenfarclas for the same quality it would cost you £800+
My rating of 94 is down to taste and on price, this cost me around £250 from the distillery last September, sadly they are all gone now so glad I managed to get one of the last available.

Is 'Clan Cask' an official bottling available only at the distillery?

It was available only to members of the Clan Cask originally and only in the UK but then put out on line, I got one of the last bottles in September as a present and it was £250 which for a 37 year single cask OB is excellent. I have used it as a benchmark malt when comparing other so called great sherry monsters like 1972 Glendronach and this is much better taste and great value in comparison IMHO.
