My favorite was a $38 sale price for Ardbeg Ten. That didn't last long!

Laphroaig 10 has been my favorite Malt since my first dram. All others I have tried, at any price, have not lived up to it. Even the Laph 15 I found to be less enjoyable than the 10.

Until I tried the QC.

Does anyone know why the Martine Nouet/Dave Broom's Whisky Magazine rating for Laphroaig Quarter Cask dropped from 8.5/8.5 to 3/4 between issues 47 and 50?

Is the new batch rubbish?

Hi plijutt - I think the explanation can be found in this thread:

Due to the good reviews on the forum, we just bought two bottles of Laphroaig Q Cask (still unopened as yet)---just waiting for a special evening). The price is a little higher here out West $65 US, but we were lucky enough to get on sale for $52.
I thought I would check out info on it and found this nice page put out by the distiller:

I've still never seen this available anywhere in Los Angeles. I've seen the 10 year, 10 year CS, 15 year and 30, but only ever tried the quarter-cask at last year's SMWS tasting extravaganza.

And I'll be damned if it wasn't right up there with the 15 and 10 CS.

Keep your eyes open, I'd never seen it here in Dallas until about a month ago, now it's in every store I enter!

Hi there,

small wonder it belongs to Brown Forman now. They have anounced that Laphroaig will go on a 7/7 production scheme now.

Greetings
